Art beyond darkness – Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2022/23

Warum brauchen wir eine Biennale? Diese Frage habe ich mich oft gestellt. Vor COVID-19 habe ich viele Orte mit internationalen Kulturveranstaltungen besucht. In der Lockdownzeit habe ich ein Künstlerresidenzprogramm mitorganisiert, um über die Auswirkungen, Bedrohungen und Chancen von COVID-19 für Kulturschaffende nachzudenken. Alles lief anders als erwartet. Jetzt versucht jeder, zur Normalität zurückzukehren. Haben wir die Billionen von Euro und Dollar gedankenlos ausgegeben, um ein System aufrechtzuerhalten, das dringend eine Veränderung braucht?
